According to author, speaker, & Christian apologist Jim Dennison, statistics point to a great awakening going on all over the world – the USA and England being notable exceptions. The largest explosion in global evangelization is happening now in places as diverse as Cuba, Nigeria, and the Koreas. In contrast, Dr. Dennison says the number of Americans identifying themselves as atheist/agnostic has quadrupled during the same time frame, while only 1% of college students are in a church service on any given Sunday. Will this country be passed by while the Holy Spirit moves in power elsewhere? Is God waiting on His people here to humble themselves and pray and seek His face? Will you?
Monday, October 17th, KHBC will host a prayer service for revival and spiritual awakening. This is a Saint Joseph Baptist Association event and anyone who's a part of a congregation within the association is welcome to participate. The service will begin at 6:30 p.m. |

The Southside Fall Festival may be over, but the fun's not! The KHBC family will celebrate the advent of Autumn with our annual Harvest Party. Come out to the farm for hayrides, horseback rides, a bonfire (with s'mores, of course), and plenty more on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 2nd. Activities will begin at 4 p.m., and dinner at 5 p.m. The main course is being provided; you need to bring a side dish, salad, or dessert. If you can bring lawn chairs and lanterns, that would be host helpful. Hayrides begin at dusk.
Friends and guests are welcome. Rob & Nancy are once again hosting this event; for location and directions, please call the church office. Remember, parking will be limited so carpooling is a MUST! The driveway will be reserved for parking for senior adults and those with mobility limitations. |

The annual South Side Fall Festival will soon be upon us! While we certainly hope you have a great time at Hyde Park on the 16th-18th, we want to give you a special invitation to join KHBC in our parking lot immediately after the parade on Saturday the 17th (be on the lookout for our float in the parade, too). We'll be giving away free hot dogs like we do every year, we're having an open house to let guests see what KHBC has to offer, and there's more! We need helpers in every area - float builders and float riders, hot dog prep, and so on - and we need your prayers for this to be a successful outreach. Can we count on your help?

. . . it's good enough for me!" If you love and remember that old classic, and others like it, you'll definitely want to join us for a good old fashioned Gospel Concert and Hymn Sing at KHBC Sunday night, September 25th. The musical duo of Mike & Jeanette Skaith will be our our special guests starting at 6:30 p.m. Afterward there'll be a time for anyone & everyone to sing to the Lord and encourage our hearts with the hymns.
So invite a friend or two - and be sure to stick around for a coffee and dessert fellowship when the concert's over. This event is open to all and the cost is a dry good, canned good, or some other non-perishable food item to help restock our food pantry. There's been a tremendous increase in people coming to KHBC for food assistance and our resources are strained. You'll have a great time and help serve a great cause. |

Saturday, September 10th, KHBCers will be out on a portion of HWY 752 to pick up trash.
This is our quarterly participation in Missouri's Adopt-a-Highway program, and we'd like to have it looking good for the South Side Fall Festival the following weekend. We need your help! Trash bags and some other tools will be provided. We're meeting in the church's parking lot at 7:30 a.m. The more volunteers we have, the faster our work will be done. C'mon and pitch in to be a good steward of our environment and help keep our city clean. |
